OPINION OF THE COURT

BARRY, Circuit Judge.

On April 5, 1986, in the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia County, a jury convicted Twyla Thompson of the first degree murder of her boyfriend and possession of an instrument of crime. She was sentenced to life in prison for the murder and given a concurrent sentence of one- and-a-half to three years for the possession of an instrument of crime.
