Procedural History

Appellant was tried by jury in the Trial Division of the High Court from August 22 to 25, 2000, for the charge of possession of a controlled substance. The jury returned a guilty verdict. On October 13, 2000, appellant was sentenced to 18 years in prison. Appellant moved for a new trial on October 3, 2000, and this motion was denied on November 28,2000.
