MEMORANDUM**

Michael D. Bailey, a California state prisoner, appeals pro se the district court’s summary judgment dismissing his action under 42 U.S.C. § 1983, alleging that Hernandez, a state correctional officer, used excessive force in violation of the Eighth *147Amendment. We have jurisdiction under 28 U.S.C. § 1291. We review de novo a district court’s order granting summary-judgment.
