On 7 June 2004, Karen Kenyon (plaintiff) filed a medical malpractice suit against Paola Gehrig, M.D. (Gehrig), and Thomas Morrissey, M.D. (Morrissey) (together, defendants), alleging medical negligence in the use of a retractor during surgery. On 16 March 2006, the trial court entered an order granting defendants’ motion for summary judgment.
