OPINION *Page 2 {¶ 1} On May 2, 2005, appellee, Gordon Proctor, Director, Ohio Department of Transportation, filed an appropriations case against appellant, Kristine King, to appropriate approximately 3.868 acres of her property. {¶ 2} A jury trial commenced on September 25, 2007. The jury awarded appellant $318,600.00 for compensation in the taking of the property.
