This case involves the question of whether, in the absence of excess insurance coverage, a settlement agreement based on the type of partial release approved in

Drake v. Ryan,

514 N.W.2d 785 (Minn.1994),

completely discharges the settling tortfeasor from liability or whether it merely operates to limit the sources of recovery available to a claimant.
