Defendant Mike Angel Maldonado was charged with first degree murder in the shooting death of Ricardo Hernandez. Defendant’s first trial ended in a hung jury. Defendant was then tried by another jury and convicted. The jury also found that defendant personally discharged a firearm that proximately caused the death of Hernandez.
