Jimmy Alexander pleaded guilty to defrauding the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) out of thousands of dollars in emergency aid intended for victims of Hurricane Katrina. The district court sentenced him to 57 months’ imprisonment, nearly twice the high end of his guidelines range.
