In January 2010, Lee A. McWilliams Construction, Inc. ("the company"), began renovation work on a house owned by Angel Ballard. Ballard and the company had agreed, per the estimate provided to Ballard, that she would pay for the costs of materials plus 18%; the parties had no written contract.
